5. Pictures floating on internet of Tell and Sarah Palin hunting Moose in undisclosed location.
4. Tell is actually Dan Healy, and boy is he Pissed!
3. Believe Light Into Ashes/Cliff Hucker/Some Dark Hollow/Willam Tell are infacto CIA Operative code names.
2. Bought a cheese burrito from him in the parking lot at Merriweather, in 84, and he forgot my sour cream.
1. When he says Tea Party, he aint talking

On advice of my attorney I will not answer your libelous charges. I will say, however, that I'd be very careful starting your car this morning.

Why would I want to be PM?

1) Write long and oftentimes meandering posts that people just assume are very insightful.
2) Wait, I do that already...just without the insightful part.
3) So people believe I have a real job.
4) Spend all day in Hugh Hefner style pajamas emblazoned with a "PM" crest while smoking a pipe (one reason why chicks dig the PM).

Thanks to one and all for more kind words, and sorry to those unknowing (count your blessings) individuals that even played along, or at least didn't give us a rant...all the FaceBook moments and such.

Capn Cook: you will be pleased to know I continue to hono(u)r your name and amazing heritage (sorry all anti-colonialists out there) by having boarded the Endeavor (sorry, Rob, no "u", methinks?), and now reside at one of the many east Aussie Bays he named!? I also have held a load of ballast he may have touched (well, looked down upon mayhaps), and certainly appreciated mightily when he was stuck on The Reef just north of here so many years before...

And for the record, Diamondhead and our other HI posters, I have also snorkeled over his grave marker, and had a few questions for the 12 marines of Her Majesty's Finest that sat idly by as he fell to his death in those shallow waters (no doubt the locals on the Big Island might view it differently, just as the Zulus might see Michael Caine and Stanley Baker et al in a different light).

Special hugs and kisses to Ring lee O, Rob, Dire, elb, SDH, mando, and all the rest of you, chicks or no.

Yep--off to play with the Groupers, and you should see the lips on those suckers. Bigger, and more worrisome, than Dire's...

Have fun today, and as always, lets all play nice, eh? Except for Rob--I would prefer him in his usual spell checking angst mode, I thinks.

Hardly early - it's 10am here - and I'm guessing you're about 11 hours ahead of me? I reckon since we're bookending North America timezone wise we've pretty much got the place to ourselves right now and can indulge in a little facebookery before Arb and Cliff show up and tell us off.

Sounds like (and looks like) you're having a really good time in Oz. I should make an effort to get out there before I'm too decrepit to enjoy it. Been fun having you check in on everything from afar (which come to think of it is an odd thing to say since you're always 'afar' as far as I'm concerned, but you know what I mean).

Anyway, I think I'm supposed to be working right now. Maybe one more cup of coffee and I'll get down to it. Ah, the free and easy idleness of the freelance life!

You're right, Rob; I am terrible at "abusing" this place with such updates...but with luck, they'll sleep thru the "facebook violations", and it'll drop off the big board soon enough.

I can make this "DEAD" related by noting that I found a disk of 10-12-68, which had been tucked away in my carry-on luggage, just a single CD (think it had been meant for a relative on visit a few yrs back!?), and when a youngster here spotted me with my one and only DEAD t-shirt on (old worn out ice cream cone kid, euro 72 one), and gave a "knowing nod", I passed it on in a flash. He was overwhelmed (moreso at first from thinking I was selling him something--seriously!), but I figured, it wasn't worth dragging it back to the states...who knows, we may get a Qnsld Forumite out of the exchange, eh?

BTW, yep, it's 7:30 PM local time here, so think you did the math "right"...

Hey now, that's a very nice story. We should never pass up on a chance to do a kindness and spread the good word. (Shit, that sounds a bit evangelical, shall I edit it out or leave it in for amusement? Leave it in, what the hell.) You did a good thing, Mr Tell - job well done there.

Speaking of jobs not so well done, I'm supposed to be finishing off an outline for a book on space scientists this morning but the words are more drizzling from the grey skies than glowing with the gold of sunshine right now. Still, better try and do something, I suppose.

For one whose very livelihood is dependent on the precise and eloquent use of the King's English, it is often surprising how often you descend into the mire with the rest of us foul-mouthed pre-pubescent freaks.

As to the newbies around here, don't worry about not understanding half the crap we throw around here; I'll wager that most of us don't understand half of it either.

I merely quibbled with your terminological inexactitude,I wasn't riding to the defence of the realm as such. In all honesty I'd really much rather be a citizen than a subject, though that said, the presidential system also seems to fall some way short of perfection. Still, it's got to be better than the pseudo-presidential system we seem to be afflicted by at present.

Yes, our political system is in one hell of a mess these days. Seems as soon as someone is elected, their first order of business is to start campaigning for the next election.

Thank God for the Good Ol' Grateful Dead, helps take some of the edge off. That and some fine Islay Malt. The Hartford AUD I detailed above is a peferect example; I'm already looking forward to the ride home and the joy the Eyes will fill me with. The Tea Baggers can't take that away from me. Although I belive the airlines are adding a surcharge for Jerry-Induced Bliss on all future flights.

Truer words could not be said. We'd not be in such a mess if we'd had a little less short-term opportunism and a bit more long-term planning. If it wasn't for the music I'd have despaired of this sorry existence a long time ago.

Not over in the UK. Imported copies of DONOVAN's CDs with "Colors" on them are spelled "Colours". They do this with a lot of words with the same ending letters. Swapping "z" for "s" in words like organisation is common too.

Ah good question, I haven't been able to look at the video, for some reason I can't run it. Throwin' Stones comes to mind, with its lament for the bright blue ball spinning through space (a closer look unfortunately revealing the human race). My choice won't please the early-era purists who often dominate the discussion here.

The PM or prime minister is the affectionate name for William Tell, who is "popular with the ladies," or "chicks dig him" mainly because he acts like a normal human and attempts to make new people feel welcome. He is on vacation at the moment and posting from various airports or you'd have been introduced ...

I mainly came back to say the groove from that '69 show is superb. I don't know if it's qualudes or what, but could they play any slower?

Why would I want to be PM?

5) Big Sneakers
4) Stuck in 1968 (gas was cheaper back then)
3) Lady Appeal
2) Ability to blabber incessantly
1) Get to play with Reptiles (gets to use 'Herpetology' on the resume)
